Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 is the official fifteenth instalment in the Marvel’s Cinematic Universe which continues to show no signs of slowing down as it rapidly expands and set new records.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 takes Marvel fans on another great adventure into the cosmos. The film takes place a couple of months after the events which took place in the first film and gives audiences a whole new experience with the Guardians Of The Galaxy who in this film have been hired by a powerful alien race, the Sovereign, to protect their precious batteries from invaders. When it is discovered that Rocket has stolen the items they were sent to guard, the Sovereign dispatch their armada to search for vengeance. As the Guardians try to escape, the mystery of Peter’s parentage is revealed.
I really enjoyed Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2. I thought that the film was great and it really delivered what myself and many other Marvel fans were expecting. The film was packed with crazy humour, awesome action sequences as well as another great Awesome Mix full of enjoyable music.
The film’s plot was very interesting and it provided audiences with something new and fresh to experience. We got to see how much the Guardians had developed into a team and we also got to explore the Galaxy a lot more deeper as we visited new worlds and places we had never been before in the MCU.
One of the biggest stars of this film was Kurt Russell. Although he may be one of Hollywood’s all time greats, I was overwhelmed by his performance as Ego the living planet, it was a role which I have never seen him in before and this was great as it allowed audiences to experience the amazing talent of Kurt Russel.
I really enjoyed the way in which Kurt Russell approached the role of Ego, creating a very relaxed, humble and happy character which really made audiences begin to love Ego but then towards the end of the film, Kurt Russell begins to kick in the anger, rage and very dangerous side of the character which really shocks audiences and makes Ego very unpredictable.
Kurt Russell was fantastic and I really think he did a great job in bringing a Marvel character like Ego to life on the big screen. He also had a great chemistry with Chris Pratt which was really fun to watch but his presence had a good impact on the film and his performance was just brilliant.
There was definitely a lot of action within Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 with the Guardians constantly fighting against certain enemies tha popped up within different areas throughout the film. I think the humour was incredibly crazy and it played a big role within this film although I feel that some of it wasn’t needed in some parts of the film and that it was just getting a little too much.
The film does well in allowing fans to explore and see how the relationships between some of the Guardians has developed and we actually get to see that some friendships have been taken on a whole new level. The cast were fantastic and they really did a brilliant job in not only bringing these iconic Marvel characters to life but also creating presence within the cinema room which developed a connection with audiences and fans which was amazing, it made the audience feel empathy for some characters which was fun.
Pom Klementieff was in my opinion, the highlight character of the film. I really liked the way in which she approached the role of Mantis, it was fantastic and her acting style really bought the character to life, establishing a brand new fan favourite.
I must admit that Marvel Studios and Director James Gunn have done a fabulous job in bringing the Guardians Of The Galaxy to life on the big screen. I remember when the first film was announced for Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and there were a lot of mixed reactions amongst fans and critics because many of them didn’t know who these characters were and some people had never even heard of them before but when the film was released, many fans loved it and the film ended up being a big hit and immediately the Guardians became fan favourites.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 was a very explosive film, it involved a lot of great action sequences, crazy humour and amazing atmospheric scenes. I really enjoyed Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 although I feel that the plot could have been a little bit better.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 was terrific and the new Awesome Mix was by far the best soundtrack I’ve heard yet so I’m going to give the film a 8/10.
