Marvel and DC have always been seen by the public as bitter rivals and that rivalry seemed to increase after both Marvel Studios and DC Entertainment launched their own cinematic universes.
It looks like those years of rivalry and battles as to who was the better superhero maker could be put behind both Marvel and DC after Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently had some positive things to say about DC’s Wonder Woman, this makes people judge whether the rivalry between Marvel and DC isn’t as bad as it used to be.
In a recent interview with Yahoo Movies, Kevin Feige praised Wonder Woman for not only focusing on a female superhero but also having a female director behind the camera.
He said “The success of Wonder Woman is awesome, and just puts to rest the fallacy that people don’t want to see female superheroes,”
Now although DC may have beaten Marvel to making a female superhero film within their cinematic universe, Marvel still have plans to make a similar film as well with plans for a Captain Marvel film which will be their first female led superhero film in the MCU.
Over the years both Marvel and DC fans have argued over Marvel and DC and it looks like it won’t be slowing down even though a few of the DCEU films have been praised by actors/actresses who are part of the MCU.
With Marvel fans desperately waiting for a Black Widow movie, it looks like Marvel could be working a little harder as they look to deliver their first Marvel female superhero film with Captain Marvel which is set to be released in 2019.
I have got to say that I am both a Marvel and DC fan and I don’t see the point in arguing over who is better because in my perspective, I see them both as great superhero makers. I love Iron Man and I love Batman.
