Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first film in a new series of Star Wars spin-offs (or anthology films). This Star Wars Anthology film takes place between Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope.
Rogue One takes place a few years after the events of Star Wars Episode 3 and a few years before Star Wars Episode 4. The film is about a scientist named Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelson) who lives on a farm with his wife and young daughter Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones). When all seems peaceful and well, Galen’s dream for a happy and peaceful life comes crashing down when the evil Orson Krennic takes him away from his family. Many years have passed and Galen is now the Empire’s lead engineer for the most powerful weapon in the galaxy known as the Death Star. Knowing that her father holds the key to its destruction, a vengeful Jyn joins forces with a spy and other resistance fighters to steal the space station’s plans for the Rebel Alliance.
I have seen all the Star Wars films multiple times and they have all established their own identity and theme as well as a story. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is definitely a very different type of Star Wars film, not only is it a new type of film being introduced to fans but it is also a film which has taken a lot of time in being made by a crew with a lot of passion for such an amazing project.
The way this Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been made is amazing because not only does it feature some aspects from the prequel Star Wars films but it also has similar features to the original trilogy and I think that is what makes it so unique and I think the director and crew behind the film has done a brilliant job in blending two Star Wars trilogies together in one film.
There aren’t much directors out there that get to make a film as big as Star Wars but I have got to say that Director Gareth Edwards has done a brilliant job with Rogue One and I think he has been successful in delivering a film which meets many Star Wars fans’ expectations.
I have got to say that after watching Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, I felt as though I was sat in a cinema room which had transported me back to the 1970’s because I found the film absolutely mind blowing because it was just so well made and it felt like you were watching a film which was part of the original trilogy.
The Rogue One film really does have a big impact on the audience because it reminds you why Star Wars is such an iconic film franchise.
The thing which makes Rogue One: A Star Wars Story so different to other Star Wars films is that it introduces a new group of characters which in my opinion is great because it does not only breath new life into the Star Wars Universe but it also gives the audience something fresh and new to explore. I think it the film also gave both fans and critics a little sneak peek as to what a Star Wars film looks like without big characters like Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Obi Wan and I think this is a good thing because it shows us what the Star Wars Universe could look like after the Skywalker saga has ended.
I think there are a bunch of great and new characters in the Star Wars Universe which have not been explored and with the success of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, I think it is possible that we could see future films where we could get the chance to explore and discover new stories and characters in the Star Wars Universe.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was fantastic. I really enjoyed discovering these new characters as well as exploring a different area within the world of Star Wars.
I am going to give Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 9/10 because it was just absolutely phenomenal and I definitely recommend that you go see it.
