Well it looks like Directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will no longer be directing the Han Solo Star Wars spin off and this has shocked many Star Wars fans with the film now in the middle of shooting.
Kathleen Kennedy who is the president of Lucasfilm made a statement on Tuesday stating:
“Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are talented filmmakers who have assembled an incredible cast and crew, but it’s become clear that we had different creative visions on this film, and we’ve decided to part ways. A new director will be announced soon, Unfortunately, our vision and process weren’t aligned with our partners on this project, We normally aren’t fans of the phrase ‘creative differences’ but for once this cliché is true. We are really proud of the amazing and world-class work of our cast and crew.”
This news came as a shock to many Star Wars fans following the success which Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller had achieved on previous films they had worked on together such as The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street and its sequel 22 Jump Street.
Many had thought that with the duo signing on to direct the Star Wars spin-off in July 2015, the film was in good hands but with just a couple of months into filming, it looks like the duo have called it a quit because of creative differences.
The Han Solo film is set for a May 25, 2018, release and remains unchanged even though the film has faced a slight delay.
Who do you think will take over directorial duties for the Han Solo film?
