Marvel have just released Spider-Man: Homecoming which is Spider-Man’s first official solo outing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and with the film already being well received by many fans, it looks like Tom Holland who stars as Spider-Man knows who he wants to play Uncle Ben.
In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1 Tom Holland expressed his desire for Tobey Maguire to play Uncle Ben:
“I kinda want Tobey Maguire to play Uncle Ben, I think that’d be super funny, but I don’t think he’ll do it.”
Now this has sparked a lot of excitement amongst many Spider-Man and Marvel fans who look to be on board with the idea of Tobey Maguire playing Uncle Ben in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
I myself am a huge Marvel fan and I absolutely love Spider-Man. I think it would be great to see Tobey Maguire be cast as Uncle Ben in the MCU as not only will it be a great way to bring the actor into the new Spider-Man films but it will also be fun for both Marvel Studios and fans. I also think it would allow Tobey Maguire to help Tom Holland develop into his role as Spider-Man and it would also allow Marvel Studios to maybe explore the role of Uncle Ben a lot more deeper than previous films.
